Story wise I feel this take is borrowing more from the manga's later volume in tone. Though visually I think they need to muddy up the palette. It's too clean

As long as they use CGI they won't manage to muddy anything, the models will always be stiff, with set variations of shadows, nuances, stains and such. So we won't see the genuinely rugged and ruffled environment from the old story.
Ironically, they managed to make Vash's hair flexible so the Tongari nickname is now out-of-place and token-ish.

Last week was #2 E.G. Mine & #4 Leonof the Puppet Master.
This week is #5 Nicholas the Punisher & #12 Zazie the Beast.
I liked the updated take on Zazie.
Not as much of a fan of Wolfwood's new character design, but I immensely enjoyed how he uses weight distribution to wield his Cross Punisher.

Not being a fan of a redesign DOES NOT equal bad character design.
For example: Vash can look 16, 18, 24 or however young because the lore attached to the character & design doesn't negate that he's actually 150+yrs old.
If the accompanying lore/backstory justifies Wolfwood's youthfulness, I can get down with it.... Yet, still prefer the middle aged looking Nicholas who's really only late 20's

i just cant get over how expressive the animation is in this show! this is almost pixar shit

go frame by frame so many beautiful expressions many of them funny since their like in-between frames which as usual are a bit silly :)

I was a 3d animator for a number of years so i usually skip out of cg anime, but this....THIS makes me so happpy! I did go through the first eps frame by frame for funsies when this first came out. What a joy that was.

I usually give most series 2 eps of watch before i judge anything. Japan has a bad reputation for terrible cg. After 10 or 15 watches you get kinda jaded.

Orange studio is ahead of the curve for CG series out of the East.

Land of the Lustrous won many CG awards back in 2017 and 18 when that series came out, and Orange was behind that.

That series set the bar for full CG anime series and looks like they are trying to top themselves with this production.

that rep is dumb so much CG is great it does not need to be the most complex an rich studio to be good I mean many 2D shows are full on slide shows yet their not hated this much XD
